About Wellworthy Athletic: Founded in 1927 as a works team in Lymington. Wikipedia They merged with Lymington FC in 1988 → forming AFC Lymington. AFC Lymington (post-1988) then merged in 1998 with New Milton Town (from the Hampshire League) to form Lymington & New Milton FC. When that merger happened, Lymington Town was re-formed by locals who wanted a separate club in Lymington, retaining the Sports Ground as their base.
