Left sided utility man Matt is known for scoring spectacular goals and being a constant attacking threat. In his first full season at the club, he scored the only goal in a 1-0 win away at Chesterfield in the FA Cup first round and was also voted away fans player of the season. He is currently 'Stoke's longest serving player and would have made even more appearances than the 200 plus he has so far had it not been for a troublesome knee injury midway through his Town Career. Incidently, Matt is one of the few players who has made over 250 appearances for Basingstoke.Matt started his career at Wycombe Wanderers and was sent to Basingstoke on a work experience loan in October 2003 when he made a handful of appearances.After leaving Wycombe, Matt joined Team Bath while at university, but soon came back to Hampshire and signed for Farnborough.
