Midfielder Paul joined Basingstoke in 1997 from Dorchester Town. He became an instant first team regular. He had previously played for Bashley and Wokingham Town after starting his career with Reading. Paul also represented England at schoolboy and Under 18 levels.The 2000/01 season saw Basingstoke face a defensive crisis, and Paul was moved to play as a sweeper. He had a tremendous season and was named as player of the year.He played over 240 times for Basingstoke and Scored 15 times. He scored the winning goal in a league Match against Aldershot in 1999.He retired in May 2002.
