Argentine midfielder Sergio Torres joined the club in February 2004 along with compatriot Cristian Levis. Both had travelled to England for a trial with Brighton & Hove Albion but were unsuccesful. After a short spell at Molesey, the duo moved on and joined Basingstoke.Sergio made an instant impact, scoring four goals in his twenty appearances before the end of the season.The flamboyant midfielder played almost fifty times the following season and started to attract the attention of professional clubs.A pre-season match with Wycombe Wanderers in the summer of 2005 saw their manager at the time declare his intrest in signing the playmaker.After three appearances and two goals at the start of the season, Sergio was snapped up by Wycombe in August 2005 to finally fulfill his ambition of making it as a professional footballer in England.
