Bio

Ben Jefford first arrived at Basingstoke Town in December 2012, an 18-year-old Reading defender joining on a work experience deal after an earlier loan spell at Boreham Wood. He made his debut against Tonbridge Angels and went on to make 14 appearances during the remainder of the 2012/13 season before returning to his parent club.

More than a decade later, Jefford returned to Town from AFC Totton, bringing with him experience from Forest Green Rovers, Welling United and Oxford City, as well as a National League promotion play-off final at Wembley. His second spell has so far been interrupted by injury, but his return makes for a neat full-circle story: the young Reading loanee of 2012 back at Basingstoke as a seasoned left-back.
