Bio

James Henry joined Basingstoke Town in July 2026 from Aldershot Town, arriving with more than 500 Football League appearances behind him and a coaching role alongside his playing duties. His move to Town followed two seasons with the Shots, where he helped win the FA Trophy at Wembley in 2025.

A midfielder with a long career at higher levels, Henry made his Town debut on the opening day of 2026/27 and quickly became a regular in the side. His experience has also extended beyond the pitch, continuing the player-coach role he had taken on at Aldershot. By September he had made nine appearances for Town, bringing a very different kind of experience to a Basingstoke side still building its identity.
