Bio

Louis McGrory joined Basingstoke Town from Hungerford Town in July 2026, arriving as an experienced midfielder and taking on the vice-captaincy. His career has included spells at several clubs in the Southern League, but it was at Hungerford that he had recently established himself as a senior figure, captaining the side and finishing 2025/26 as their leading scorer with nine goals.

McGrory went straight into Town’s midfield and was a regular starter through the opening weeks of the season. His early contribution has been about more than appearances, though: his experience and leadership have given him a clear role within a changing Basingstoke side. By September, he had made nine appearances at his start to life at Town.
